Bad news and good news about bug sprays… The bad news: there's no sure, completely safe way to prevent bug bites. All bug repellents have pros and cons. The good news: some repellents are effective and relatively low in toxicity -- provided you take precautions when using them, particularly on children.

If you've been spending more time outdoors lately, chances are you've got a few (or more) bug bites to show for your time in the sun. I found a DIY ALL NATURAL BUG SPRAY recipe by that is worth sharing:

Ingredients · 2 tbs witch hazel · 2 tbs jojoba oil · 1 tbs pure vegetable clycerin · 50-100+ drops of essential oils (your choice): peppermint, lavender, oregano, citronella, thyme, lemon, eucalyptus, clove, tea tree, geranium, bergamot

Instructions 1. Mix everything together and transfer to a spray bottle 2. Shake very well before using as the ingredients naturally separate 3. Reapply every few hours for best results

Enjoy your summer time outdoors.   ~ Cheers,   Beth for Voss Botanicals
